Old Primeval is the nickname of a giant snapping turtle who has long roamed the waters of Georgian Bay. It felt like a fitting title for this Barrel Aged Imperial stout, which spent 16 months in 2nd fill Bourbon barrels, that were initially home to Red Vermouth.    

Reminiscent of a classic Manhattan, notes of dark cocoa and red liquorice come through, with a dry herbaceous finish. Neither beer nor turtle is to be trifled with.
