Our series of wild ales fermented on a "second pressing" of fruit from various sour or brett beer bases (beers like Farmageddon, Barn Owl, or Motley Cru). The resourceful process allows us to take advantage of fruit we've already utilized once in our barrel aged beers, but that still has flavour, wild yeast, and bacteria left to impart. MOG is the younger, slightly unpredictable, and experimental second generation. Expect lots of variation and always a hint of fruit!
The third iteration in our MOG series pulls its distinct colour and vibrant flavour profile from the black raspberries that we used in one of our 2018 Motley Cru variants.
What it smells like, what it tastes like: Light in body with a pleasant acidity and lively carbonation Black Raspberry MOG boasts fruity flavours and aromas of raspberries, red currants and blue icee that transitions into a dry finish with subtle notes of black tea, leather and rosemary.
