Xoloveza is back for its third annual release!
This Imperial Stout is a passion project from our Territory Account Manager, Mario, who dreamed up the beer as a way to celebrate his home country of Mexico and honour Day of the Dead.
Brewed in collaboration with ChocoSol Traders, it’s a beer with that holds plenty of meaning behind it.
The name Xoloveza combines “Xoloitzcuintle,” a Mexican hairless dog believed to guide souls to the next world, with “cerveza,” the Spanish word for beer. The label carries on the story, with marigolds and papel picado (colourful flags) traditionally associated with Día de los Muertos.
As for what’s in the glass? Vanilla, cinnamon, ChocoSol cacao nibs, habanero peppers and rosita de cacao come together to evoke the flavours of Mexican hot chocolate. This year’s batch is a little more robust than previous editions, with even bigger notes of spice and chocolate.
