Farmageddon (Riesling - 2018)
BARREL AGED WILD FARMHOUSE ALE CONDITIONED ON ROSEWOOD ESTATES RIESLING GRAPES
Farmageddon is our wild farmhouse ale that we've been brewing, blending, and aging for almost as many years as we've been open. The blending process allows us to maintain a common thread across batches, the aging adds nuanced layers, while the brett and bacteria work hard to create small idiosyncrasies in each release. It's a refined, effervescent, and delicious beer worthy of special occasions and idle weeknights.
Using the the Farmageddon Batch #12 as a canvas, we transferred the beer onto whole Riesling grapes from our friends at Rosewood Estates. The beer refermented on the grapes for one month before undergoing an extensive bottle conditioning period.
What it smells like, what it tastes like: Bright expressive flavours and aromatics of apple, white wine grapes, oak, honey and wildflowers. Perfectly balanced acidity, subtle minerality and an off-dry finish make for a very drinkable wild ale.
